OnePlus patent filing emerges showing a potential OnePlus 10 Pro Plus with upgraded camera hardware
OnePlus has only released one member of the OnePlus 10 series to date, with the OnePlus 10 Pro still a Chinese exclusive. However, there are rumblings about the company developing a second flagship, potentially the OnePlus 10 Ultra or the OnePlus 10 Pro Plus. While OnePlus has not commented on the matter, let alone set a global OnePlus 10 Pro launch date, a recent patent filing provides insights into what this OnePlus 10 Ultra or OnePlus 10 Pro Plus could look like.
As @TechInsiderBlog has shown, the patent filing contains drawings of a smartphone that resembles the OnePlus 10 Pro. Accordingly, the device has a large camera housing, a punch-hole camera and a curved display. OnePlus’ signature alert slider is present, too.
The device also has three rear-facing cameras, albeit ones arranged in a different layout to those in the OnePlus 10 Pro. For reference, the OnePlus 10 Pro also has a fourth element in its camera housing, LED flash excluded. Seemingly, this element is only there for marketing purposes, though.
Instead, it would appear that OnePlus has designed this smartphone with a periscope camera. Undoubtedly, the wider rectangle is the camera’s housing, with the smaller rectangle serving as its lens. Allegedly, the OnePlus 10 Ultra or the OnePlus 10 Pro Plus will arrive in 2H 2022. Based on past rumours, the device could launch with the SM8475, an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and Oppo’s MariSilicon X, a combined ISP and NPU.
