Leaker sheds light on the state of OnePlus 10 flagships and explains why there is no OnePlus 10
Digital Chat Station has offered some insights into the state of OnePlus 10 Ultra rumours. To recap, Yogesh Brar announced to his followers that OnePlus was developing another flagship smartphone, supposedly called the OnePlus 10 Ultra. Allegedly, the device will launch with MariSilicon, Oppo's in-house chip that combines dedicated ISP and NPUs.
According to Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 10 Ultra was originally intended to be the OnePlus 9 Pro's successor. It is unclear if OnePlus had envisaged releasing two flagships, as it had in previous years with the likes of the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. However, Digital Chat Station claims that the OnePlus 10 Pro was developed as a non-Pro model, instead.
The leaker adds that the OnePlus 10 Ultra, or OnePlus 10 Pro+ as they call it, was postponed at an early stage of development. For context, Brar asserts that the OnePlus 10 Ultra is at an early stage of Engineering Validation and Testing (EVT) development. Reputedly, the OnePlus 10 Ultra could launch with the SM8475 too, an updated version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Digital Chat Station discounts the Dimensity 9000 as a potential candidate for the device, but agrees it could debut in the second half of 2022.
