OnePlus 6 beats Samsung Galaxy S9+ in leaked GeekBench results
Last week, specs for the OnePlus 6 got leaked, and it suddenly became clear that this model will be a high-end smartphone to rival even Samsung’s flagships. Even though its launch date is rumored to occur in the second half of 2018, benchmarks for the OnePlus 6 have already been leaked, and it looks like it could end up faster than the Galaxy S9+.
The GeekBench results were submitted on March 23, and, coincidentally, this is the exact day that the specs were leaked. However, the benchmarked model is identified as NS NS P7819, which is supposed to be the denomination for one of the OnePlus 6 prototypes. This one scored 2535 pints in the single core section and 8632 points in the multi-core section, overtaking Samsung’s Galaxy S9+ initial benchmark results. This seems to be consistent with a previous AnTuTu benchmark that proved the OnePlus 6 is faster than Apple’s iPhone X and Xiaomi’s freshly announced Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S. It would be interesting to see if the benchmarks remain unchanged when reviewers get their hands on the Galaxy S9+ later this week.
The leaked specs for the OnePlus 6 claim that it is powered by the same Snapdragon 845 SoC that comes with the Galaxy S9+ (US variant) and the Mi MIX S2. This could mean that the OnePlus 6 is actually using an overclocked SoC or better memory, or a combination of these two. Also, since these results come from a prototype, the final product could end up even faster.
