The two images that allegedly show the upcoming OnePlus 6 flagship surfaced on a WhatsApp group, where it was posted by someone claiming to be an insider familiar with the matter. One of these images confirms a previous rumor that mentioned a front with a notch similar to that of Apple's iPhone X. The other one shows a back with a vertical dual camera setup and an oval-shaped fingerprint reader.

The Apple iPhone X started an entire "front notch movement," and many Chinese copycats added this design element without a real need for it. In Apple's case, it was done to accommodate a few sensors. Although we do not know yet why OnePlus is doing it, the first hands-on images of the upcoming OnePlus 6 flagship show a front panel similar to that of the iPhone X.

The images do not come from an official source, but the OnPhones editor who spotted them in a WhatsApp group says the one who posted them claims to be an insider familiar with OnePlus. Moving from the front panel to the back, we find something that does not appear original at first sight: a vertical dual camera and a fingerprint reader straight beneath it. However, there is a catch: the fingerprint reader has an oval shape.

At last, we should also mention that the specs and features of the unit pictured in the hands-on leaked images include 6 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage, and OxygenOS 5.1.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. A fun fact spotted by OnPhones is that the OnePlus 5/5T shared the design with Oppo R11/R11S, while the Oppo R13/15 has a notch on the display.

Obviously, these images should be taken with a grain of salt for now, but we will surely hear about the OnePlus 6 again soon. Hopefully, next time the images will come with more technical details.
