Official: Cheaper version of new mini-PC released before global launch

Aoostar launched a new mini-PC last week featuring AMD's Gorgon Point architecture for CNY 6,699 (~$972). Equipped with an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 APU, the Maco 470 also features LPDDR5-8533 RAM, albeit while removing user upgradeability in the process. Additionally, Aoostar's new mini-PC maintains OCuLink connectivity just like older models (curr. $459 on Amazon). For reference, the Maco 470 ships with the following other ports:
- 2x 2.5 Gigabit LAN
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DisplayPort 2.1
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 2x USB 4
Now, the company has expanded on that initial launch by releasing additional SKUs. Previously, the Maco 470 was available exclusively with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. While the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 remains unchanged, one can now opt for a 2 TB SSD or a barebones system without any RAM or storage pre-installed.
As a result, the Maco 470 now starts at CNY 5,299 (~$769) in China and rises to CNY 7,999 (~$1,159) when configuring the mini-PC with 2 TB of storage and 32 GB of RAM. Currently, the Maco 470 remains exclusive to China. However, Aoostar teased that its new mini-PC would be available globally soon.
