Nvidia N1X ARM APU reportedly suffers from software issues resulting in N1X laptops slipping to Q2 or summer 2026

We’ve been hearing about the Nvidia N1X ARM APUs for Windows laptops for a while now. Back in 2025, it was expected that laptops featuring the Nvidia N1X could break cover at CES 2026 and release to the mass market in Q1 2026. However, we’ve yet to hear anything substantial about the Nvidia N1 chips, let alone get an official release date.
Leaker Moore’s Law Is Dead claims that the absence of Nvidia N1X-based Windows laptops is due to the APUs not being ready, with tons of bugs and software issues. Microsoft is also seemingly not showing any urgency in ensuring that the Nvidia N1X works well on Windows. MLID is alleging the same for Nvidia, as Team Green is also taking its sweet time to ready the N1X and N1V APUs.
In other words, it seems quite unlikely that there will be any Nvidia N1X/N1V laptop launches in Q1 2026. If there are, MLID thinks the volume will be low. A more likely scenario is notebooks coming out in Q2 or a summer 2026 launch. There is a chance that the Nvidia N1X machines could be even further out, as one person who MLID talked to thinks that the N1X-powered laptops could even slip to August 2026.
From Dell Alienware and Dell 16 Premium to Lenovo Legion, Yoga, and IdeaPad laptops, we have been seeing a bunch of different Nvidia N1X and N1V machines pop up online. This suggests that MLID’s report about possible software issues might be true.
As always, we’ll only know for sure what is actually up with Nvidia N1X ARM APUs when the company officially reveals details. Until then, take any unconfirmed reports with a grain of salt.
