RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB and RTX 5070 prices are reportedly much closer now than at launch after sharp increase

Last week, we reported on the disappointing price increase of the RTX 5070 Ti in Australia. We also showed how the alleged slowdown in the production of the RTX 50 GPU is also affecting the prices of the AMD Radeon RX 9000 GPUs. 3DCenter now reports that, just like Australia, the RTX 50 GPUs are also getting much more expensive in Germany.
The price of the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB has reportedly exploded over the past months to €573. The GPU now sits much closer to the RTX 5070, which retails around €619. The price of the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB, while also €17 more expensive currently than in mid-December 2025, is nowhere as inflated as the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB and the RTX 5070.
Where the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB reportedly sat at €411 vs the RTX 5070’s €526 price in mid-December, the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB is now only €46 behind the RTX 5070.
In other words, cards with 16 GB of VRAM have gotten considerably more expensive. This is undoubtedly a side effect of the global memory shortage, which has also affected desktop and laptop GPUs.
That said, there are still some decent GPU buying options out there if you know where to look. For instance, in the US, you can currently get the RX 9070 with 16 GB of VRAM for less than $600 if you are prepared to shop for an Open-Box item on Newegg.
Unfortunately, things have gotten even worse for the brand-new RX 9070 since our last report. The cheapest RX 9070, for instance, is now $629.99. Although, it does come with a free copy of Crimson Desert. Fortunately, the RTX 9070 XT seems to be holding steady at $729.99, which is still quite high compared to its official MSRP.
