Nubia hints that the Z40 Pro will be the first Android flagship with magnetic wireless charging
A Valentine's Day-themed post from Ni Fei might double as a teaser for a new spec coming to the flagship Nubia Z line in 2022. Going by some of the (translated) text of the message ("...people with similar magnetic fields will always be attracted to each other..."), and its new poster, it seems the upcoming flagship will launch with a new kind of wireless charging...well, new to Android, at least.
Tech that could be called "MagSafe clones" for Android have been either teased or launched by other brands as of late, such as Realme with its MagDart line-up. However, they have yet to release, leaving Nubia potentially free to be first to have a phone that ships with this kind of wireless charging.
Magnetic charging can support improved accuracy in placing a compatible phone on a wireless pad, as well as increased speeds in some cases. Therefore, it could be a useful selling point for Nubia when the time to debut the Z40 Pro comes.
The same device is also tipped to launch with specs and performance to match the Galaxy S22 series, as well as a new lens not even the new Samsung flagships may be able to match.
On that note, Ni Fei has also posted a photo allegedly taken with the camera in question; however, while the picture exhibits nice detail and clarity, its file information seems to offer no actual evidence it was taken with the Z40 Pro, despite its watermark.
