Nubia confirms that the Z40 Pro is on the way, potentially upgraded camera and cooling technology in tow
ZTE's high-end smartphone brand Nubia has now confirmed the existence of a direct successor to the Z30 Pro. The company asserts that this generation will hit the top-end mobile photography notes it aimed for in 2021 thanks to this Z40-series flagship's new and allegedly ground-breaking lens.
Nubia has released a slew of stats-rich teasers hyping the potential benefits of having this glass in a phone. They include a 78% improvement in picture clarity, an 80% bump in light available to this lens and a 35% reduction in image distortion...although compared to what is not made entirely clear at this point.
Apart from these camera-related specs, Nubia has also now announced that the Z40 Pro will be powered by the top-end Qualocmm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The device will apparently pair this silicon with a first-gen "aerospace-grade, micro-nano cavity, and graphene phase-change temperature chamber".
Some aspects of this thermal-management word-salad have also been tossed around by other OEMs in the past; nevertheless, it may be interesting to see how Nubia intends to bring them together. The brand is now set to present the results in full along with the rest of the Z40 Pro in February 2022.
