Over the past few years, Nubia has become synonymous with producing Android devices with sleek designs. The company is set to release its next device—and flagship—the Z18, anytime soon. That device has been spotted online once again, with the new live images leaving nothing to the imagination on the design side.
Going by the images, the Z18 sports some rather slim side bezels. Perhaps not as slim as initial renders and the first sketchy live images had us believe, but still lithe enough that the device is up there with the best on the market. At the bottom is a chin, also on the smaller side. The top of the device houses a notch. Notches may be here to stay—at least until Apple decides to do away with the whole thing—but we’ll always have something to say about them.
In the case of the Z18, the notch doesn’t look anywhere as obstructive as what we’ve seen from a few OEMs. It’s round, small, and entirely inconspicuous. We saw something similar on the Essential PH-1, in fact. Of course, it’d be nice if a notch was all the top of the device housed. Unfortunately, there’s also a bezel staring down at you, which begs the question of why there’s a notch at all. Oh, well.
The Nubia Z18 will be powered by a Snapdragon 845 and will feature a 6-inch FHD+ LCD display, a dual rear camera setup (24 MP +8 MP), and an 8 MP selfie camera.
