Nubia has made a name for releasing catchy devices with great designs and the next device to trot out of the company's stables will be no different, with it said to feature two displays—and no selfie camera.

Nubia has had a pretty uneventful 2018 so far. While that isn’t out of the norm for an OEM of its size, the company has released less than a handful of devices this year, with the Z18 devices being the only noteworthy launches so far, climaxing with the main Nubia Z18 that was launched last month. The former ZTE subsidiary will attempt to remedy that, though, if plans of its new device are anything to go by.

According to reports, Nubia will soon release a new device, the Nubia X. What makes this prospective device truly worthy of attention is the fact that it's said to feature two displays—one at the front, and another at the back. This wouldn’t be the first time a device with two displays is released. The LG V10 featured a secondary display on top of the main screen, and the Meizu Pro 7 Plus had a second display at its back, just like on the Nubia X.

The 5.1-inch AMOLED display on the Nubia X is significantly larger than the one on the Meizu Pro 7 Plus, though. It’s also interesting to note that the Nubia will not feature a selfie camera, instead choosing to have users take pictures using the rear cameras and display. It’s not a bad choice, really, but one has to ask if the rear display only exists for the selfie purpose.

The Nubia X will be launched on October 31.
