Keyboard manufacturer NuPhy has confirmed that a new model in its Halo keyboard series will debut on August 27 at 10:00 UTC. The company shared a short teaser video on X (formerly Twitter), and it flaunts a compact design with a refreshed lighting scheme.
The post describes the upcoming release as "smaller, brighter, bolder," since it will have a reduced 65% layout compared to the larger Halo75 and Halo96 models. It will feature the company’s updated Halo 2.0 glow system, which diffuses RGB lighting through the keyboard’s edges. The teaser clip shows off the new keyboard with this Halo75-like effect, with a bright, chunky outline that wraps around the case.
NuPhy also revealed that the keyboard will be available in five colors and ship with four switch options, though specific details on which switches are included are still under wraps. Given the brand’s track record with in-house Mint, Lemon, and Raspberry switches alongside Cherry and Gateron options, we can expect multiple tactile and linear choices.
The company seems to be targeting users who don't want to compromise on both compact size and functionality, as they are retaining arrow keys while still trimming down the footprint. This new launch will pit the new model against other popular 65% boards in the keyboard space, such as Keychron’s Q2 series and Wooting 60HE V2 (read our review here).
