It's been four months since the game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released, and it continues to make headlines, whether by offering gifts to players or by bringing updates. And recently, Guillaume Broche, the director of the game, claimed that the Clair Obscur license will be getting a sequel.
He made the announcement during an interview broadcast on the MrMattyPlays YouTube channel, specifying that the license will continue to be used in the future. And for this, he explains that Clair Obscur is the name of the franchise before adding:
"Expedition 33 is one of the stories that we want to tell in this franchise. Exactly what it will look like and what the concept will be is still too soon to announce, but what is sure is that this is not the end of the Clair Obscur franchise."
This means that we will see a new game, or several, developed by Sandfall Interactive based on this universe. And to accentuate this point, the studio is already working on its next title, although we don't yet know whether it's the sequel to Expedition 33 or a completely different game.
Furthermore, a DLC does not seem to be up to date. Indeed, in this interview, Guillaume Broche specifies that he likes to forget his previous works when he starts writing new projects. In other words, all eyes seem to be on the studio's next game, even if it's still very mysterious.
As a reminder, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was a huge success with players, as it is possible to see on OpenCritic, where it is recommended at 97%. And it seems that this game still has a bright future ahead of it.
