Chilkey Slice68 HE: New Evangelion-themed Hall effect gaming keyboard on the way
Chilkey has teased its upcoming Hall effect mechanical keyboard. Officially called the Slice68 HE, the model will come in two colorways seemingly inspired by the EVA-01 and EVA-02 units from Evangelion, based on photos posted on X and Instagram.
The official colors are Cosmic Purple and Velocity Red. The Cosmic Purple model adopts the purple-and-green theme of EVA-01, complete with a “01” inscription on the space bar. Meanwhile, Velocity Red pays homage to EVA-02 with its red-and-gold styling and matching “02” inscription.
While Chilkey has yet to confirm release timing or pricing, the company shared additional details on the upcoming keyboard on a teaser page on its website. The Slice68 HE will feature custom WS Flux switches, an 8,000 Hz polling rate, a 32K scan rate, and adjustable actuation down to 0.005 mm. The specs appear to be the same as the Slice75 HE magnetic keyboard (curr. $189.99 on Amazon) that the company released recently, so the major difference here will be the anime-inspired design.
Like the Slice75 HE, the Slice68 HE uses an aluminum build but shrinks the layout to 68 keys. Interestingly, Chilkey appears to have opted for dye-subbed PBT keycaps instead of the double-shot PBT ones found on the Slice75 HE, though the keyboard will retain the same wired USB-C connection.
