NuPhy has officially launched the upgraded version of its 65% Halo gaming keyboard. Following teasers on X, the Halo65 V2 is now available. The new model brings upgrades in design, keycaps, switch options, and software support, which should all add up to faster input response, improved acoustics, and a more refined overall feel.
Buyers can purchase the Halo65 V2 from NuPhy’s online store for $119.95. It comes in five colors: Obsidian Black (black), Iconic White (white), Mojito (green), Blue Lagoon (blue), and Sakura Fizz (pink).
NuPhy Halo65 V2 specifications and details
While the Halo65 V2 was initially expected to be a simple refresh, NuPhy has made a lot of improvements under the hood. The biggest change is QMK/VIA support, which opens up a ton of customization options. Much like the original, the new version supports three connectivity modes, but the 2.4G wireless mode finally gets a big leap with 1000Hz polling for improved speed.
NuPhy has also refined the design. The Halo65 V2 comes with the same aluminum top frame, but the bottom case is now translucent to support the upgraded Halo 2.0 glow system, which creates a more balanced and ambient lighting effect through the edges. Speaking of which, NuPhy says the LEDs are brighter and more powerful, and owners will be able to take full control of the lights using SignalRGB.
The Halo65 V2 is built around NuPhy’s custom 5-pin mechanical switches, available in four options: Mint, Raspberry, Lemon, and Blush Max. All switches are south-facing, hot-swappable, and feature a POM stem, PC top housing, and PA66 nylon bottom housing. NuPhy has also replaced the KOP keycaps with its own double-shot PBT keycaps in the mSA profile. Other features include a gasket mount and a six-layer sound-dampening system, which should both improve the acoustics and typing feel.
With everything it brings to the table, the Halo65 V2 feels like a meaningful step forward rather than just a minor refresh. At $119.95, it goes head-to-head with other customizable 65% boards like the Keychron Q2 (curr. $94.99 at Amazon), but the combination of QMK/VIA support, 1000 Hz polling, and NuPhy’s unique design flair should help it stand out. The keyboard is available now through NuPhy’s website and will likely come to Amazon in the coming weeks.
