Bluehole, the game developer behind PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG), has announced a new map will be made available for players soon. This will be the third map released for the game and is expected to come out within the first half of 2018.

The PUBG Development & Community team has announced that there will soon be a new map for the hugely popular game. In a post about PC 1.0 Update #6 the game developer made this statement:

In March, the team will reveal what you can expect from us in the first half of 2018 in terms of our development and new content plans which, by the way, include a new map.

Bluehole has been recently concentrating on reducing the amount of in-game cheating the battle royale game suffers from. But as much as gamers appreciate a developer working on background fixes to reduce issues such as unfair gameplay or general bugs, new content is always going to generate more excitement among players. The island of “Erangel” was PUBG’s first map and this was followed by the desert map, “Miramar”.

There has been some speculation that the new addition could be a map based around the Adriatic Sea that separates Italy from the Balkan states. PUBG has been a resounding success, with over 30 million sales on PC alone.
