Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition free playable demo out February 26
PC gamers will be able to download a free demo of Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition from Monday onwards. This playable demo will be made available through digital distribution platforms Steam, Origin and the Microsoft Store. According to Square Enix, the demo will contain the whole of Chapter 1, thus enabling players to get a good taste of FFXV’s gameplay and ensure their hardware is sufficient for the game’s requirements.
The game developer has put a lot of work into adding a number of features to the Windows Edition of Final Fantasy XV. These features include 4k high-resolution textures, Dolby Atmos and several advanced environment simulations (for grass, hair, smoke etc.). Considering the high expectations gamers have in regard to the trail-blazing graphics frequently found in Final Fantasy games, it is understandable why the developer brought GPU specialists Nvidia on board to assist with the port from console to Windows. The game is driven by Square Enix’s Luminous Studio engine.
The full game will be released on March 6, 2018 and is available for pre-order. Square Enix is offering bonus content for early purchasers, depending on the platform used: Steam subscribers will get a Half-Life fashion collection for their in-game characters, Origin users will receive a decal selection and those using the Microsoft Store will get a power-up pack.
