Xiaomi’s 17 series lineup currently consists of the 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the late 2025 17 Ultra. However, the company is reportedly getting ready to add a new member to the family: the Xiaomi 17 Max. While initial rumors focused on its massive battery, new leaks from China suggest the device may also boast a significant camera upgrade.
According to noted tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Xiaomi 17 Max will move away from the standard model’s triple 50MP setup. The device is expected to feature a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPE main sensor measuring 1/1.4 inches, paired with a 50MP Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto sensor and a 50MP ultrawide lens. This imaging system will reportedly continue Xiaomi’s high-profile partnership with Leica, offering a more capable setup than the vanilla Xiaomi 17.
Beyond the glass, the 17 Max is rumored to pack a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a roughly 6.8-inch display, and a staggering 8,000mAh battery. This massive cell is expected to support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
A Q2 2026 launch in China is currently expected. However, global fans might be disappointed, as current signs suggest the Max will remain a domestic exclusive. This would leave the international market with only the standard 17 and 17 Ultra models.
