After launching in China last month, the Ugreen AP16 portable monitor is now available to order in the US. It's priced at a steep $349.99 compared to its competitors, but the additional cost gives you features you won't find on cheaper models.
As far as portable monitors go, the Ugreen AP16 is a very unique offering. It brings a large 16-inch display, but instead of the 1920×1080 resolution you'll find on many portable options, Ugreen went for a QHD (2560x1600) resolution, which translates to crisper text and sharper images. On top of that, it uses a 16:10 aspect ratio, offering more vertical space for documents and spreadsheets.
The IPS panel is rated for up to 500 nits brightness, making it more usable outdoors than many rivals. It also covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and is certified under VESA DisplayHDR 400 tier, although buyers shouldn't expect flagship-level HDR performance. Elsewhere, the AP16 offers a 165Hz refresh rate for smoother gaming and includes both USB-C and mini-HDMI ports for connecting laptops, smartphones, and game consoles.
Unlike many cheaper portable monitors, the AP16 also features a premium all-metal design and ships with a fully adjustable magnetic metal stand. It measures just 6.5 mm at its thinnest point and checks in at 928 g. You can now buy the Ugreen AP16 in the US via Amazon for $349.99.
