1,000Hz gaming for $699.99: Acer XV273U F5 heads to North America sporting a dual-mode 540Hz QHD display

With the XV273U F5, Acer is offering a compelling package for competitive esports gamers. The 27-inch gaming monitor has a 2560 x 1440 resolution with a native 540Hz refresh rate, which is already up there with the fastest gaming monitors. That said, it can also switch to a faster 1,000Hz mode at a lower 1280 x 720 resolution for even more responsive gameplay.
Acer has now listed the XV273U F5 on Amazon ahead of its US launch. The monitor is currently marked as "Temporarily out of stock," so there's still no firm shipping date. Acer previously said it would arrive in North America in Q4 2026.
Acer XV273U F5 specifications
The XV273U F5 is built around a matte 27-inch IPS panel. Acer rates it at a 1 ms response time, dropping to 0.5 ms with overdrive enabled, although real-world performance may vary. For example, Monitor's Unboxed's hands-on testing of the Philips Evnia 27M2N5500XD, which has a similar 1,000Hz/720p mode, found the monitor to be underwhelming. That said, the Acer model adds both FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync support for tear-free gaming.
Elsewhere, the display reaches up to 400 nits of SDR brightness and 600 nits in HDR, carries VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, and covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. For connectivity, the monitor offers two HDMI 2.1 ports and two DisplayPort 1.4, all of which support up to 1440p at 540Hz.
