Gigabyte has unveiled a new mini-PC: The BRIX GB-BER7-8840 features the Pro version of the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U, which comes with Radeon 780M integrated graphics. The processor boasts 8 cores capable of running at up to 5.1 GHz and handling as many as 16 threads. According to Gigabyte, the two RAM slots inside support up to 64 GB of 5,600 MHz DDR5 memory. The mini-PC offers two M.2 2280 slots with four PCIe 4.0 lanes for installing SSDs. The motherboard also has an M.2 2230 slot, typically intended for a wireless adapter with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability.
The Gigabyte mini-PC packs quite a number of USB ports, offering four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (one of which is USB-C) on the front as well as two USB 2.0 Type-A ports on the back. The rear panel also sports a USB4 interface with support for DisplayPort Alt Mode. Furthermore, two HDMI 2.1 outputs and one Mini DisplayPort are also available, letting you easily plug in several high-resolution monitors at once. For connectivity, the device comes with an Ethernet port with a max transfer speed of 2.5 Gbit/s.
Measuring 134.2 x 139.1 x 48.8 mm (5.3 x 5.4 x 1.9 in), the tiny computer can be mounted, for instance, on the back of a monitor using the included VESA bracket. The chassis also has a Kensington slot for protection against theft. Gigabyte has yet to reveal any information on pricing and availability.
