Gigabyte offers a very wide range of products, from gaming hardware to mini-PCs. The company recently announced the fairly powerful GB-BRU5-225H mini-PC. The last four characters in the product name refer to the Intel Core Ultra 5 225H used in the device. This processor is certainly quite capable, meaning the GB-BRU5-225H should be able to handle more than just basic applications. The two RAM slots can support up to 96 GB of SODIMM DDR5 memory running at 6,400 MHz.
The mini-PC features a total of three M.2 slots, two of which are in the 2280 format, can communicate via SATA or NVMe, and are intended for SSD installation. The third is an M.2 2230 slot fitted with an Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX210 network adapter, which supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Measuring 112.6 x 119.4 x 34.4 mm (4.4 x 4.7 x 1.4 in), the tiny computer offers Ethernet connectivity with transfer rates of up to 2.5 Gbit/s, though this speed is only necessary if adequate network infrastructure is available.
The Gigabyte GB-BRU5-225H is equipped with one Thunderbolt 4 port, handy for connecting docking solutions or monitors. Furthermore, the device has two HDMI 2.1 interfaces and one USB 3.2 Type C port capable of video output. This USB-C port can also be used for powering the mini-PC. On the front the device are a few additional USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports. The mini-PC supports VESA mounting, allowing it to be attached to the back of a monitor, for example. It can also be secured using a Kensington lock. Pricing and availability have yet to be revealed.
