AMD has launched four new Pro-branded desktop CPUs to complement its laptop counterparts. An earlier leak showed AMD has four models lined up, but it looks like only three of the Zen 5 CPUs have been shown off at the moment. They're essentially the same as their desktop variants, with a few enterprise-centric features added. It includes four models: Ryzen 9 Pro 9945, Ryzen 7 Pro 9745, Ryzen 5 Pro 9645, and Ryzen 5 Pro 7445, all of which are official. As their names imply, three are based on the newest Zen 5 architecture and one is based on Zen 4.
The Ryzen 9 Pro 9945 features 12 Zen 6 cores, 24 threads, a base clock of 3.4 GHz, a boost clock of 5.4 GHz, and a 65 W TDP, similar to the Ryzen 9 9900X. Similarly, the Ryzen 7 Pro 9745 is comparable to the Ryzen 7 9700X, which features a base/boost clock of 3.8/5.4 GHz and a 65 W TDP.
The Ryzen 5 Pro 9645 (3.8/5.3 GHz base/boost, 65 W TDP) mirrors the Ryzen 5 9600X. Lastly, the Ryzen 5 Pro 7745 likely mimics the Ryzen 5 7600. All four SKUs come with a 2 CU iGPU and a Wraith Stealth cooler in the box.
Performance-wise, AMD claims the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945 is anywhere between 18-24% faster than Intel's Raptor Lake-based Core i7-14700K. There's no word about the price or availability of either SKU, but they'll likely debut alongside pre-built PCs and eventually make their way to the DIY market.
