New Casio x Chengdu Panda limited edition watch appears

Casio has revealed another Chengdu Limited Edition Panda watch. This is the brand’s second model to celebrate the hometown of this animal; the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding opened in the 1980s.

The Casio x Chengdu Peace and Love watch has been designed in collaboration with NSC Crew, also based in this city. It appears to be a GA-2100 series, with a black/dark gray resin casing. However, this limited edition watch features a Panda Graffiti resin strap. There is also an exclusive panda-shaped Collectors Edition Gift Box, and it appears to come with stickers. Several images of the timepiece and its packaging have been shared by Geesgshock on Instagram (see post below).

Features of the G-Shock GA-2100 series watches include 200 m water resistance, a carbon core guard structure and an LED backlight. These analog-digital watches support world time, with users offered 48 cities. There is also a 1/100 second stopwatch, a countdown timer and five daily alarms. 

In China, there will be a lottery style sale of the Casio Chengdu Limited Edition Panda Peace and Love watch, with prospective customers invited to enter from July 4th, with the results announced on July 11th. Casio notes that there is an ‘extremely limited quantity’, though an exact number of units has not been provided. It is unclear how much the Casio x Chengdu watch will cost. It is unlikely to be released more widely, and it is not expected to be released in other regions like North America or Europe.
