The Casio G-Shock x Hanshin Tigers 90th Anniversary watch has been announced in Japan. This limited edition timepiece celebrates 90 years of the Japanese baseball team. This is a DW-6900X series watch, with a black resin casing, gold/beige accents and a black and gold/beige tiger printed resin strap. On top of this, the Tigers logo can be found on the stainless steel caseback.
The G-Shock x Tigers watch is shock-resistant and also water resistant to 20 ATM. The timepiece features a digital display, showing the time, weekday and date. The Triple Graph at the top of the watch is used for the 1/100th second stopwatch and a seconds display. Other features include a countdown timer, an alarm and a fully automatic calendar. There is also an LED backlight, illuminated using the larger button at the bottom of the watch.
According to the product listing, this limited edition DW-6900X watch will run for up to seven years, though this is longer than the typical two to five years battery life of other DW-6900 series wearables. Its measurements are not listed; assuming it is the same size as the DW6900-1V (curr. $60 at Amazon), it will measure 53.2 x 50.0 x 18.7 mm (~2.1 x 2.0 x 0.7 inches) and weigh 67 g (~2.4 oz). Plus, the timepiece comes with a collectible tin and bespoke packaging.
In Japan, the Casio G-Shock x Hanshin Tigers 90th Anniversary watch is expected to retail for 20,900 (~$145). The timepiece is listed on the baseball team’s official store; it is unclear whether or not it will also be sold at the Casio online store in Japan or other countries. While it is described as a limited edition model, it is unclear how many units of the product will be available.
