New Apple iPhone 16 dummies showcase visual differences with larger iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models
Sony Dickson has published more images of iPhone 16 dummy devices, providing a greater insight into the visual differences between the four models in the process. To recap, Dickson previously shared photos of metal dummy units that are often used by accessory manufacturers before they receive retail units. This time, the same leaker has delivered shots of what appear to be full-sized mockups.
Unfortunately, Dickson has not revealed the origins of these photos, let alone the dummy units themselves. With that being said, Dickson's reputation for sharing accurate information about future iPhone releases. Accordingly, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are smaller than their Pro counterparts, with 0.2-inch diagonal differences between the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, as well as the iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
As a result, the entry-level iPhone 16 will serve as the most compact option in the iPhone 16 series. Although the iPhone 16 is only marginally smaller than its Pro sibling, 0.6-inch and 0.8-inch gaps exist between it and the iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 Pro Max, respectively. Moreover, the new images show non-Pro models switching to much smaller pill-shaped camera housings than the equivalent Apple uses in the iPhone 15 (curr. $689 - renewed on Amazon). Incidentally, the larger sizes of this year's Pro models should allow Apple to include upgrades like a 5x periscope zoom camera across both models, as well as larger batteries and more power efficient display panels.
