My Arcade recently offered a detailed look at its new Atari Gamestation Go. While the last teaser gave a closer look at the design of the retro gaming handheld, it didn't share any further info about the device. Now, at the CES 2025 event, the company has disclosed more details.
The company confirmed that the gaming handheld will indeed come with a unique set of controls, with the main highlight being the Trak-Ball, which is Atari's version of a trackball. As speculated in our previous report, this versatile set of controls is there for games that require more than just the regular ABXY buttons and analog stick, such as Missile Command and Centipede.
On the note of games, like the Gamestation Pro, the Gamestation Go will feature a large collection of classic Atari titles. To be specific, My Arcade confirms that it will have over 200 classic games installed, and they will be from different Atari consoles, including 7800, 5200, and 2600.
There will be modern Atari titles as well, and with frequent updates, this retro gaming handheld will get its game library expanded. My Arcade has also shared info about the I/O of the Gamestation Go, and there will be a decent selection of ports, including:
- USB-C
- HDMI
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- microSD card slot
My Arcade further hints that Gamestation Go will be an ambitious project, with the company offering a variety of accessories for it. For example, there will be additional controllers (8Bitdo Ultimate 2C wireless controller curr. $25.49 on Amazon). However, the company didn't talk about the launch date and the price of the gaming handheld, but judging from the past releases, it should be affordable.
