Motorola's Moto Snap charger launched with Qi2.2 support and overheat protection

Motorola has used IFA 2026 in Berlin to launch the Moto Snap Wireless Charger, a magnetic pad. The wireless charger goes for €39 (about $50) and will be available in selected markets across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia Pacific over the coming weeks.

The pad delivers up to 25W to handsets that support the Qi2.2 standard, rising to 30W on Motorola devices that use the company’s proprietary charging protocol. Magnets hold the phone in position on the charging surface, which removes the alignment guesswork that costs flat pads their speed, and Motorola states that compatible magnetic cases can stay on during a session. 

Overheat and overcharge protection are built into the unit, alongside a design Motorola says runs cooler in sustained use. Heat is the main constraint on wireless charging, since a warm handset throttles its own intake and slows the session. Standby draw falls to zero when no device is attached, and the charger ships with a 1.5m braided USB-C cable, which allows some distance between the pad and the nearest socket.

The accessory arrived alongside two larger launches in Berlin. The Edge 70 Plus is an upper mid-range handset built around a 200MP main camera, a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED panel, and a 6,500mAh battery, priced from €529. Motorola also showed the Moto Watch Ultra, which runs Wear OS 6 with LTE and health tracking developed with Polar.
