With Moto Snap, Motorola could soon launch a Qi2 charger.
The Motorola Edge 70 Max, which was recently launched, is the first Motorola smartphone to support MagSafe and Qi2 magnetic chargers. However, this may have been just the beginning of Motorola’s magnetic push, as a leak has now revealed the Moto Snap charger.

Smartphones that support magnetic chargers are still a rarity, at least aside from the Apple iPhone. With the Motorola Edge 70 Max, Motorola recently unveiled its first smartphone that officially supports Qi2, including the Magnetic Power Profile (MPP).

This means the smartphone can be used with magnetic accessories such as camera grips or tripods, and the device can also be charged wirelessly at up to 25 watts. The magnetic ring on the back precisely aligns the wireless charging coil with the charger’s coil, which is intended to make charging faster and more efficient. The highly reliable leaker Evan Blass has now published the first images of Moto Snap.

This appears to be the first magnetic Qi2 charger that Motorola itself will offer. The design is relatively standard – Motorola combines a white, braided USB-C cable with a metallic charging puck. The side that connects to the smartphone features a Motorola logo. Motorola has opted for a slightly beveled edge with a purple accent, which sets the charger apart from Google Pixel Snap and Apple MagSafe charging cables.

It is not yet known when or at what price the Motorola Moto Snap will be released. Technical specifications have not yet been disclosed either, but it’s safe to assume that the charger will be capable of charging smartphones at a rate of at least 25 watts to fully utilize the capabilities of the Motorola Edge 70 Max.
