When Motorola announced the new Razr series for 2025, it announced three models in the US — the Razr, Razr+, and Razr Ultra. The Razr Ultra a.k.a. Razr 60 Ultra arrived as the first clamshell foldable powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It had a starting price of $1,300 for the base model with 512GB of storage and maxed out at $1500 for the 1TB version. Now, Motorola and Amazon have knocked a jaw-dropping $400 off the price of the flagship foldable.
The Razr Ultra with 1TB of storage is currently available to buy directly from Motorola for $1,099.99, a $400 discount off its original price. Interestingly, the 512GB version is also available for the same $1099.99 price which is $200 off its launch price. Even if you don't need 1TB of storage, it is only right that you purchase the 1TB version.
On the other hand, if you absolutely do not need 1TB of storage and want to keep your budget under $1,000, then you should head over to Amazon where the Razr Ultra with 512GB of storage is available for $984.99. However, unlike the official Motorola store where the deal applies to all four colors, Amazon's discount applies to the Pantone Scarab color option.
It is worth noting that Amazon's deal isn't a part of its Prime Day sales, so you don't have to have a Prime Subscription to purchase the Motorola Razr Ultra at the discounted price.
The Motorola Razr Ultra has a 7.0-inch LTPO AMOLED main display and a 4.0-inch LTPO AMOLED cover display. Both screens have a 165Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor is paired with 16GB of RAM and the storage is UFS 4.0.
The Razr Ultra has a 50MP primary rear camera paired with a 50MP ultrawide angle camera. There's also a 50MP camera under the foldable display for video calls and selfies. The Razr Ultra can record in 8K at 30fps and in 4K at 60fps. It has Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, physical and eSIM support, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, and an IP48 dust and water resistance rating.
While it doesn't have the largest battery capacity in a clamshell foldable, its 4,700mAh battery is pretty decent and charges quite fast at 68W with a wired charger. It also supports 30W fast wireless charging and 5W reverse wired charging. It runs Android 15 out of the box and will receive 3 OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
In our review, we praised its overall design, crisp displays, longer battery life, and faster charging compared to its predecessor as well as rival clamshell foldables. However, its cameras, while not bad, are not on par with flagships in the same price range. Motorola's software support is also quite poor when compared to rivals such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. It also tends to get hot, no thanks to lacking an active cooling system.
