Minisforum launches new all-AMD gaming mini-PC with 16 GB Radeon GPU

Minisforum has introduced a new all-AMD version of its AtomMan G1 Pro gaming mini-PC. It swaps the existing GeForce RTX 5060 for a Radeon RX 9060 XT with twice as much VRAM. The rest of the platform is largely unchanged. Both versions use the same Ryzen 9 8945HX with 16 cores and 32 threads, support up to 96 GB of DDR5-5200 memory, and offer dual PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots with up to 8 TB of combined storage. There is also 5 Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and a 350 W internal power supply.

Minisforum positions the Radeon version as the option with more headroom for high-resolution gaming and graphics-heavy workloads, while the RTX 5060 retains Nvidia-specific features such as DLSS Multi Frame Generation and all the software chops offered by Nvidia's platform. That extra VRAM could make the Radeon model particularly interesting for gaming over the long term, and even let you run compact AI models locally.

While 8 GB remains workable in many titles, newer games at higher settings often require more, especially at 1440p and above. The 16 GB RX 9060 XT therefore gives the AtomMan G1 Pro-89A6 significantly more breathing room for large texture packs, heavier ray-tracing workloads and future releases.

The all-AMD configuration also makes the G1 Pro-89A6 an interesting alternative to Valve’s Steam Machine, although an apples-to-apples comparison isn't apt given the price difference. Valve says SteamOS support for other AMD-powered desktops has improved with recent releases, and SteamOS remains built around an AMD-heavy hardware ecosystem. At the time of writing, the AtomMan G1 Pro-89A6 should not be treated as an officially certified SteamOS machine, but it could very well make the cut in the future. 

Minisforum is selling the AtomMan G1 Pro-89A6 with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD for $1,759 on its US website. Shipping is currently estimated for late October. The RTX 5060 version remains available separately for $1,719.
