Meta launches Muse Charm, a Tamagotchi-like keychain for its AI agent

Meta has unveiled Muse Charm, a keychain-sized device that gives users direct access to the company’s Muse AI agent. Chief executive Mark Zuckerberg revealed the gadget on stage at Meta Connect 2026 in Menlo Park, California, and the company aims to ship it in time for the holidays in December. 

The device carries a small screen that displays an animated, interchangeable avatar representing Muse. During the demonstration, Zuckerberg tapped a fingerprint sensor in the corner of the device to start interacting with the agent.

Zuckerberg said the device packs the full Muse experience, including real-time voice and the avatar, into a keychain that “is always available to talk to.” Meta’s Connect blog describes it as “a delightful and fun device” for talking with Muse. The Muse Charm is roughly the size of an Apple AirPods case, with a touchscreen of about 2 inches and a built-in 5G connection. The cellular link would allow the device to connect without a phone.

Meta is still finalizing the device’s components and design and has built only a few units so far. Zuckerberg said the company will share more details soon, and Meta has not announced a price, battery life, or full specifications.

Meta launched Muse on September 8. The agent runs each user’s tasks in a dedicated cloud environment called Muse Secure VM, which can access calendars, payment methods, and connected apps on the user’s behalf. Users can name the agent, design its avatar, and adjust how it speaks, including its accent and pace.

Muse Charm launched alongside Meta's new VR Glasses and joins Meta’s phone apps, the web and WhatsApp as a way to reach the agent. Meta also said at Connect that Muse will come to its AI glasses in the coming months. Meta has not confirmed pricing or the markets where Muse Charm will be sold when it ships in December.
