There has been a surfeit of leaks and rumors surrounding Apple's 2025 iPhone lineup. Specifically, the iPhone 17 Air has piqued a lot of people's interest, which is understandable considering that this is the first time Apple will be releasing an iPhone with the 'Air' branding. With a rumored thickness of just 5.5 mm, the smartphone is expected to be Apple's thinnest iPhone ever.
Now, a fresh new leak shared by the popular tipster Majin Bu seemingly reveals the back of the iPhone 17 Air's shell. As previous rumors have indicated, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to ship with a single-camera setup on the back, which the image appears to confirm. Interestingly, the image also reveals that Apple is indeed switching to a 'camera bar' sort of design for the iPhone 17 lineup, with the camera bump spanning the entire width of the iPhone.
Whether or not this design choice is a good one is up for debate. This does make the iPhone appear as if it stole the Google Pixel 9's homework, although major smartphone brands taking design inspiration from competitors is hardly anything out of the ordinary. A sizeable chunk of iPhone users have been complaining about annual upgrades becoming somewhat stale and boring, a design refresh will likely make things exciting again.
The iPhone 17 Air is also expected to ship with the A19 SoC paired with 8 GB of memory, a 6.6-inch OLED display, and the aforementioned single rear camera housed in a 5.5 mm chassis. The device is expected to command a premium price tag, and will see the light of day alongside the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro sometime in the fall.
