CES 2022 | MSI Stealth GS77: High-end gaming laptop refreshed with Intel Alder Lake-P processors and powerful NVIDIA Ampere GPUs

MSI has refreshed the Stealth GS77 for 2022 as part of its CES 2022 presentation. The laptop remains a 17.3-inch machine, but one that now comes with 12th Gen Intel Core processors and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GPU. Additionally, the Stealth GS77 now supports DDR5-4800 RAM across two SO-DIMM slots. Accordingly, the Stealth GS77 can run on up to 64 GB of RAM.

At launch, MSI will offer three display options, all IPS-level panels. The cheapest of the three is a 1080p and 360 Hz panel, which actually offers the highest refresh rate of those available. Next is a 1440p and 240 Hz panel that also 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Finally, there is a 4K and 120 Hz panel that offers 100% AdobeRGB coverage. Above all these displays sits an IR FHD webcam that works with a quadruple microphone array. The Stealth GS77 has six speakers too that MSI has created in collaboration with Dynaudio.

Additionally, the Stealth GS77 has one Thunderbolt 4 port, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C connection, two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports and an SD card slot. A 3.5 mm jack is also on board, as is a fingerprint reader and a 99 Wh battery. For reference, MSI bundles a 240 W slim power adapter with all configurations.

The Stealth GS77 will be available in six configurations, starting with the Core i7-12650H and RTX 3060 configuration. The US$1,799 configuration also has 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, plus a Windows 11 Pro licence. By contrast, the fully configured model will retail for US$4,199, for which you will receive a Core i9-12900H, an RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. A Windows 11 Pro licence is also included. Display options differ between configurations too, with the premier model the only one with a 4K and 120 Hz panel.
