Reviews for the MSI GT60-2PE16H11B
Source: Hot Hardware
The MSI GT60 Dominator Pro isn't a system we can unilaterally recommend. Its beautiful screen and great GPU performance are offset by a great deal of fan noise and GPU throttling. The 128GB SSD is a bit small now that prices on consumer drives have dropped below 50 cents per GB in some cases, and MSI needs to revisit its co-branding initiatives.

The MSI GT60 Dominator Pro is heavy, looks gaudy, and runs hot, but the hardware is absolutely fantastic. The processor is quick, the GTX 880M can outrun mid-range gaming desktops, and the 3K display looks great when it’s used for gaming. The GT60 may seem outdated at first glance, but what’s inside is cutting-edge.

The $2,399 MSI GT60 Dominator Pro 3K-475 gives gamers the powerful graphics and performance we've come to expect from MSI in an imposing chassis. While having the world's fastest GPU is nice, where the GT60 stands out is its stunning 3K display. The addition of the SteelSeries software and XSplit Gamecaster video capture software is the cherry on an already stacked cake.

With the increasing demand for gaming laptops, MSI has released yet another laptop, the MSI GT60-2PE16H11B, also known as the MSI GT60 Dominator Pro. Although the price may scare potential buyers off, the price tag of 2500 US$ is not really an expensive amount for a machine with its capabilities.
To begin with, the 15.6 inch display sports a record high 2880 by 1620 pixel resolution utilizing the 3k technology. Users of this machine don’t have to worry about blurry pictures; if there is something in that high quality picture, you will be able to see every detail of it.
The MSI GT60 runs on an Intel Core i7-4800MQ, which has the processing power to match even high performance desktops! Furthermore, its Nvidia GeForce GTX 880M is one of the fastest graphic cards in the world. With 1 TB hard disk space and an SSD, nothing slows this laptop down.
As expected of gaming laptops, the battery life is nothing to brag about when compared to other range of laptops. However, in the gaming laptops class alone, the MSI GT60’s battery life is not bad. It is better than the average but still isn't the best. In short, the MSI GT60-2PE16H11B is a laptop truly made for gamers. Even modern games with ultra-high settings will be a breeze for the MSI GT60.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880M: High-end graphics card from the GeForce GTX 800M series. Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
4800MQ: Haswell-based quad-core processor clocked at 2.7 GHz with Turbo Boost support up to 3.7 GHz. Offers an integrated HD Graphics 4600 GPU and a dual channel DDR3 memory controller.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
