Lenovo reveals new P-Series monitors with high refresh rate support and impressive color reproduction

Alongside a host of new product including AIOs, towers, mini PCs, and laptops, consumer tech giant Lenovo has also announced a bunch of new monitors with attractive spec sheets.

We have already covered the T32UD and the T34WD in a separate article, and will be talking about the P-series, ie, P27UL and P34WD monitors in this one. Although they belong to the same P line up, they feature completely different panel technologies.

To be more specific, the ThinkVision P34WD-4V is a 34-inch ultra-wide monitor with an IPS display and a resolution of 3440 x 1440. This panel peaks out at a claimed 300 nits of maximum brightness and features 98, 99%, and 99% coverage of the DCI-P3, sRGB, and BT.709 color gamuts, respectively. VRR support is also present between 24 and 120 Hz.

Moreover, the monitor also features a 5 MP built-in front camera, which removes the hassle of plugging in webcams for video conferencing and similar use cases. Interestingly, the monitor can also detect nearby observers, which Lenovo claims can be utilized for privacy purposes. However, the exact functioning of this technology was not revealed. 

The P27UL-40, on the other hand, is a 27-inch 16:9 monitor with an OLED display and a resolution of 3840 x 2160. This monitor also features a peak brightness of 300 nits, although its OLED panel with pixel-level dimming allows for impressive contrast performance courtesy of true blacks, granting it an HDR10 rating. VRR support is present between 60 and 120 Hz.

The P27UL is also quite vivid, featuring 99% and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 and sRGB color gamuts. The monitor utilizes inkjet printing technology for its OLED panel, which should allow for lower production costs.

Both monitors feature the following I/O options: 

• Thunderbolt 4 input, Thunderbolt 4 output for daisy chaining
• DisplayPort 1.4 (HBR3) input, DisplayPort output for daisy chaining
• HDMI 2.1

Plenty of ergonomic adjustments are possible, including:

• 155 mm height
• 90° pivot (only P27UL)
• 23.5° to -5° tilt
• 45° swivel

As for pricing and availability, the ThinkVision P27UL-40 OLED monitor will be available from March 20, 2027, with an "expected" starting price of $1,299. The P34WD IPS Ultra Wide Monitor, on the other hand, will be available from December of 2027 with an "expected" price tag of $699.
