Reviews for the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 21M2S00G00
After a year of absence from the ThinkPad T14s line, Lenovo's premium office line, AMD returns with Strix Point. The new Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 AMD with the Ryzen AI 7 Pro 360 delivers a great balance between performance and efficiency, outperforming the ThinkPad T14s Gen 5 Intel on both counts.

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 impresses for those looking for a reliable business laptop with plenty of power, a sublime port selection and one of the most comfortable keyboards on a laptop today. It also provides decent endurance and fantastic build quality, although its screen is lacking against similarly-priced rivals. For a similar outlay, you get can sleek ultrabooks such as the Asus Zenbook S 16 (2024) which provide the benefit of a larger and higher-res OLED panel for an even better viewing experience, and a little more in terms of power. With this in mind, the ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 gets the job done for business users that want a reliable, lightweight laptop with good ports and decent power inside. The T14s remains a worthy representative of the ThinkPad series, even if it no longer carries the aura of indestructibility it once had. Nevertheless, the build quality is still excellent and holds its own against any competitor. Lenovo has proven that image quality doesn’t necessarily depend on high resolution—the T14s’s display delivers impressive visuals. All included equipment met our expectations, aside from the somewhat limited SSD capacity. A 5G modem for on-the-go network access is a rare feature in this segment, giving the T14s an edge. Battery life is sufficient for more power-demanding tasks. However, at a starting price of $1,600, this should be expected, especially considering the range of alternatives available at this price point. For those who prefer something a little more flamboyant, Lenovo’s broader lineup offers plenty of eye-catching options.

Prices for the Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 start at around $1,560, which is about what you'd expect from a ThinkPad with this level of hardware. I highly recommend the laptop to professionals (or anyone really) who want a lightweight powerhouse that can handle a wide array of office and productivity workloads. You can also configure this machine with higher-end components, including a 1TB SSD, but that will bring the price up to around $1,600. If you prefer something cheaper with a solid chipset, Lenovo is selling the ThinkPad T14s with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chipset, starting at $1,181.

The ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is a very nice laptop with one glaring flaw. It’s built well, looks good, has a great keyboard and strong performance, and it’s perfect for large companies with a lot of laptops to manage. At the same time, its battery life isn’t great. And, it’s a bit expensive, although large commercial customers who buy it will do so at better group purchase prices. So it’s an easy laptop to recommend for commercial buyers but not as easy for mainstream users.

AMD Radeon 880M: A fairly powerful RDNA 3.5 architecture iGPU that debuted in June 2024 and a direct successor to the Radeon 780M. Its 12 CUs/WGPs (768 unified shaders) run at up to 2,900 MHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, AI image generation and other modern features are all supported here, as are many popular video codecs including first and foremost AVC, HEVC, VP9 and AV1. Its gaming performance is good enough for playing 2024 games such as Once Human and The First Descendant at 1080p on low graphics settings.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.

In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
