Deal | Lenovo Legion 5 with 500-nit 240 Hz FHD IPS display, full sRGB coverage, GeForce RTX 2060 graphics, and 16 GB RAM on sale for under $950 USD
This Lenovo configuration has one of the best displays out of any sub $1000 gaming laptop without needing to sacrifice RAM, storage, the Core i7 H-series CPU or the GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.
Walmart is currently offering the 2020 Lenovo Legion 5 for a sale price of $949 USD down from its original launch price of $1399. The Legion 5 is Lenovo's mid-range gaming laptop in contrast to the higher-end Legion 7 series.
The Walmart deal is notable for its excellent specifications relative to the asking price. Its FHD display in particular has a fast 240 Hz native refresh rate and a bright 500-nit backlight with full sRGB coverage to be significantly better than most other gaming laptops in this price range where 60 Hz, 144 Hz, or more limited display colors are much more common.
Outside of the display, users would also be getting the Core i7-10750H CPU, GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a sizable 512 GB NVMe SSD. RAM and SSD upgrades are also relatively easy. Note that Thunderbolt 3 is not supported here despite what the Walmart ad is claiming. The official Lenovo specifications for this model can be found here which confirms no Thunderbolt support.

There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
