Costco is currently running a sale on the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14 for $100 off the already inexpensive original price of $650 USD. This deal is notable for the fast processor and slim chassis design when compared to other Ultrabooks in the same price range.

The AMD Ryzen 5 4600U has proven itself to be comparable to the best Intel 10th gen Ice Lake or Comet Lake-U processors in the market like the Core i7-1065G7 or Core i7-10710U especially in terms of multi-thread performance. Many of these Intel models often retail for a few hundred dollars more than the AMD Lenovo system in question. The model also comes with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080p display instead of just 8 GB of RAM or a 720p display like on most $500 laptops.

Our biggest complaints about the 14-inch IdeaPad 5 are its low contrast ratio, limited color space, and soldered RAM. Thus, serious graphics editors may want to avoid this laptop or at least connect an external monitor for better and more accurate colors. The modest plastic chassis is also a step down from the more luxurious Lenovo Yoga, Dell XPS, HP Spectre, or Asus ZenBook series.

The IdeaPad 5 14 received high marks in our review especially for such an inexpensive laptop. If you're looking for the best bang for the buck, then this deal is going to be tough to beat.
