OPPO has launched the F19 Pro and F19 Pro Plus, a new series of smartphones that seem to be exclusive to the Indian market. Accordingly, they are completely new devices rather than re-brands of some kind. They feature 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED displays, quad rear camera and a 5G MediaTek chipset in the higher-end model.

OPPO has launched its Band fitness wearable to the Indian market as announced earlier. The 12-workout-tracking device with an AMOLED display and a blood-oxygen sensor can now be had for INR 2,799 in that market. Re-named the Band Style, it has debuted alongside the less-expected F19 Pro and Pro Plus (or Pro+) smartphones.

These new members of the F-series (which, as with the Samsung Galaxy F-series, seems primarily aimed at the Indian market) both have FHD+ AMOLED displays with ~90% screen-to-body ratios thanks to their 16MP punch-hole cameras and quad rear shooters. They consist of a 48MP primary lens; an 8MP wide-angle camera, a 2MP "mono portrait" sensor and the almost inevitable 2MP macro lens, found under a singular pane of glass on their rear panels.

They are marketed with new features such as "AI Highlight Portrait Video" and "Ultra Night Video", although some may only be found in the Pro+ version. This variant is otherwise distinguished by its MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor, which makes it the only 5G model of the two. The Pro has a Helio P95 instead.

The F19 Pro and Pro+ are available to pre-order from now. The former starts at INR 21,490 for an 8GB RAM/128GB internal storage SKU. It also has one with double this storage, although it seems not to be available yet. The Pro+ is only available in an 8/128GB configuration, and goes for INR 25,990.

Therefore, the two phones - which have launched with ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 and 3.5mm jacks - seem to be shaping up as contenders in the Indian mid-range phone space. However, OPPO's next launch event, set for March 11, 2021, is set to introduce devices at a much more premium level.
