The Legion displays all games smoothly on its matte 15.6-inch display (120 Hz FHD, IPS). The integrated GPU is activated as a standard but can be deactivated with the click of a button. The battery life is very good as well.

Lenovo is consistently bringing gaming laptops at low prices in their Legion series, the Legion 5 powered by Ryzen 5 4600H is no different. You can pretty well game on it but also it can double up as a good work machine for some CPU intensive tasks. Lenovo also offers AMD Ryzen 7 4800H Processor if you want to amp up the performance. Both the models though comes with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti 4GB GDDR6 graphics card. And, there is also intel powered models too.

With Legion 5 AMD, Lenovo is trying to woo customers who are not mad about gaming but still want to indulge in some after a long working day. This is also the crowd that knows the nuances of advanced PC gaming but keeps it down in comparison with some avid gamers. For the price of around Rs 75,000, the Legion 5 AMD is one of the best laptops you can get for a casual yet fulfilling gaming experience while making the most of its productivity features. It is also more or less the same in terms of performance as the Legion 5i.Live TV

On Lenovo’s website, my review unit currently costs Rs. 80,890. If you want a laptop I’d suggest buying the Lenovo Legion 5 but wait for a sale as the manufacturer frequently give offers on their website. Lenovo Legion 5 is a laptop with specs that most people want, consequently, it has a price tag that’s pocket friendly for a lot of people as well.

The Legion 5 is as boring as a Volkswagen Jetta. It’s a reasonably priced, well-rounded package that won’t wow you, but it also doesn’t seem like the kind of device that will ever let you down.

The Legion 5 is clearly a budget gaming laptop, and Lenovo knows the audience who might want a machine like this. The good news is that the Legion 5 performs well for someone who is not a hardcore gamer but still wants a gaming-centric laptop. By that logic, the Legion 5 should be capable of handling any task you throw at it. Think of a person who wants to spend time playing a game when the workday is over. That to me is the user who would want to want to buy the Legion 5.

In our view, the Legion 5 (15) is worthy of being your gaming companion. However, stay away from the 120Hz display option, because of its rather washed out image and slow pixel response time – either get the 144Hz model or the 60Hz one, if you are going to use it primarily for content creation.

Lenovo's Legion 5 comes in both an Intel and AMD version. We previously reviewed the Intel version now let's see how the AMD one performs!

Well, my two biggest complaints from the Legion 5i remain. One is that it has a clickable trackpad and one is that there's no Windows Hello. I don't personally mind the clickable trackpad, because I don't use it for gaming, and if you use a mouse, it's fine. Another con that I'm adding is sluggish performance under heavy workloads because frankly, it was not good on this machine.

Unboxing the Lenovo Legion 5 with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti.
Hands-On, online available, Medium, Date: 10/26/2020

Buying this Legion 5, I knew that the AMD Ryzen platform is an excellent performer in CPU-heavy tasks and efficient in everyday use, and I also knew that Lenovo offers a clean utilitarian design, good inputs, good screens, and multiple configuration options. I wasn't, however, expecting this to run as cooly and quietly as it does, and at the same time, I also didn't expect for the rubbery interior to dent and chip that easily. However, my major nits with this right now are the lack of a higher tier GPU option, as well as the expensive pricing for the GTX 1650Ti versions similar to the one I've got here. Down the road, though, once these are addressed, the Legion 5 is going to be one of the best-value mid-tier gaming notebooks of its generation.

If you’re looking for an entry-level gaming laptop that you can take on the go, the Lenovo Legion 5 is a decent option. While our review unit, which won’t break the bank, was a bit lacking in the higher graphics settings for some games, you can customize the system with a better video card and more RAM. Had our review unit had a better screen and more RAM with the better video card, it definitely would have scored higher than it did. Regardless of the customization option you choose, the laptop does just fine doubling for getting some work done when you’re not gaming.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile: Mid range to high end laptop graphics card based on the Turing architecture with raytracing features and 1,920 shaders. Compared to the similar named desktop card it offers reduced clock rates.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Mobile: Mid range dedicated graphics card for laptops based on the desktop GTX 1650 and therefore the Turing architecture (TU117 chip in 12nm FFN) without raytracing and Tensor cores. Available with 896 and 1024 shaders.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile: Mid range dedicated graphics card for laptops that uses a Turing TU117 chip without raytracing and Tensor cores. Should be slightly faster than a GTX 1650, but is also available in different variants with a TGP ranging from 55 - 80 Watt (and two packages).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile: Mid range dedicated graphics card for laptops based on the desktop GTX 1660 Ti and therefore the Turing architecture without raytracing and Tensor cores. The performance of the Max-P variant should be similar to an older GTX 1070.

Intel Comet Lake:
i5-10300H: Comet Lake architecture (4th gen of Skylake) based processor for big and heavy laptops. Integrates four processor cores clocked at 2.5 - 4.5 GHz (4.2 GHz for all 4 cores) with HyperThreading support.
i7-10750H: A high-performance hexa-core processor designed for use in thicker laptops with room for better thermals. The Comet Lake-H processor is manufactured on the third-gen 14 nm Intel process and features a 24 EU UHD Graphics 630 iGPU clocked at 350 MHz to 1,150 MHz. The CPU cores run at 2.6 GHz (base clock speed) Boosting up to 5.0 GHz and the likely all-core Boost frequency is 4.3 GHz. Hyper-Threading is enabled, allowing two threads to run simultaneously on each core.
AMD Renoir (Ryzen 4000 APU):
R7 4800H: A laptop-grade octa-core APU with SMT-enabled Zen 2 cores clocked at 2.9 GHz to 4.2 GHz and a Vega series graphics adapter with 7 CUs clocked at up to 1,600 MHz.
R5 4600H: Mobile Hexa-Core APU using Zen 2 cores clocked at 3 to 4 GHz and a Vega graphics card with 6 CUs clocked at up to 1500 MHz.
