There’s several cons to the Lenovo S145, such as its body material, the substandard display, poor audio quality, and somewhat short battery life. Still, it does have a couple of functional aspects to it; the material allows the laptop to be thin and lightweight, has several ports, and it can be upgradeable to some higher specs. The IdeaPad S145 is a pretty straightforward, no-frills laptop. If you’re a light user or a student/professional who’s looking for a machine to do basic computing and productivity tasks and don’t mind its starting price of PHP 18,995, then the Lenovo S145 is for you.

Lenovo Ideapad S145-15IWL-81MV001BGE
The Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 breaks the mold of the contemporary 2-in-1 convertibles. Its design not only capitalizes on a more flattened and sleeker overall surface. It is ultimately a more distinctly commutable gadget to aid users to boot the system up wherever they wish to go. The Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 demonstrates a wide range of versatility when it comes to accomplishing essential tasks pertaining to productivity, but it has some notable downsides to it when delved further upon. First of all, it is worth noting that the monitor of the Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 does not flip all the way to the rear end of the device due to the absence of a standard 360 degree angle rotation mechanism. However, it can be laid flat on a plain surface without any obstruction, which can be considered as a quirky trait, which can be put into good use. With immediacy, it can also be noted that the Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 has a 15.6 inches antiglare display, which is further magnified by thin side bezels. The visuals displayed are further accompanied with an audio system of complimentary caliber all thanks to the appreciated inclusion of Dolby Audio technology. On further inspection, it seems like the Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 houses some core components that are not too bad in general. In terms of performance, it does well with its 8th generation Intel Core i7-8565u processor unit. This particular processor unit is considered to be power efficient and offers a higher clock speed due to its production through an improved 14 nm process. Compared to slower processor units from the past, the Intel Core i7-8565u supports Thermal Velocity Boost, which enables a temporary boost of performance upon its activation. The Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 also comes equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce MX230 graphics card. The GeForce MX230 is optimal enough for custom work to be done on creative multimedia content, but it is safe to say that the GeForce MX230 is ill suited to sustain the latest titles of games. Demanding games may not even run fluently with a configuration of the lowest detail settings possible. Therefore, the Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 is generally better off to be used and focused on everyday work instead of competitive gaming. The construction of the Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 is wholly made out of polycarbonate and plastic materials. This entails to the fact that the structure of the Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 is prone to scratch. However, despite the materials used are of the cheaper variety, its aesthetic is surprisingly professional and pleasing to say the least. Needless to say, thoughtful development and efforts were being poured into the design of the Lenovo Ideapad S145-15 without any sort of visible discrepancy. Despite the Ideapad S145 15’s wide versatility, we found it to lack some key features. Yes, the device clearly looks pretty, especially given the competition at the bottom end of the budget. However, we would give up the looks for the convenience given by the DVD reader and the RJ-45 connector of HP 15 (15-da0000) for example. That’s not all, though. One of the biggest concerns we had was with the battery. It is only a 30Wh unit that will last you through no more than 4 hours and a half of web browsing. Add the lack of an IPS panel to the mixture and you will end up with a pretty average budget offering. Thankfully, the laptop is made pretty easy to disassemble and offers you decent upgradability. Additionally, it doesn’t heat up and it is barely audible during full load.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145, in its current configuration of an Intel 8th Gen Core i3 CPU, 4GB RAM, and a 1TB hard drive, is not terrible value for its Amazon.in-listed price of Rs 32,990. But you still shouldn't buy it unless you intend to use it for extremely basic computing (like checking email occasionally or watching offline videos). It's unfit for multitasking and serious web use. We recommend you upgrade the RAM to 8GB and replace its sluggish hard drive with a solid-state drive before using it for serious work. Alternatively, pick a variant of the Lenovo IdeaPad S145 with those upgrades at the time of purchase.

Lenovo's 15.6-incher scores with its fast SSD, quiet fan and low temperatures. Its display and battery life are weak points, in our opinion. The laptop will not burn much of a hole in your pocket at around 300 Euros (~$334), though.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

14.00:
14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.

77.83%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
