Xiaomi's latest T-series phones - the 15T and 15T Pro - were released barely a week ago, but rumours about the next-gen iterations of these handsets are already in circulation. The latest leaks suggest that Xiaomi plans to skip the 16T series entirely and launch the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro as early as the first quarter of 2026.
Evidence of the former is circumstantial, but it correlates with Xiaomi's decision to skip the "16" numbering for its flagship models. As for the potential launch date, XiaomiTime claims the model numbers seen on the GSMA IMEI database point to a different timeline than the typical September/October releases.
A total of four Xiaomi IMEI listings have been observed lately: 2602DPT53G and 2602DPT53I ostensibly refer to Xiaomi 17T, while 2602EPTC0G and 2602EPTC0R likely imply Xiaomi 17T Pro. XiaomiTime suggests the four initial digits position these smartphones for a February 2026 launch, ahead of MWC in March. This will pit the Xiaomi 17T directly against other mid-rangers like the HMD Ace 5G or OnePlus 15.
It is also possible that Xiaomi wishes to treat the globally-released Xiaomi T-series and the China-exclusive Redmi K Ultra more independently by further staggering their releases. We have already noticed this decoupling in terms of design language between Xiaomi 15T and Redmi K80 Ultra.
Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are allegedly codenamed "chargall" and "warhol" (XiaomiTime earlier claimed the internal model number "P21A" referred to the 17T). The devices will feature MediaTek Dimensity 8500 and 9500 chipsets running Xiaomi HyperOS 3.
