Latest PlayStation 5 emulator tests show several games fail to run

A new video from the B Mark YouTube channel tests the SharpEmu and KyTyPS5 PlayStation 5 emulators across six games using an AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT and a Ryzen 5 5600X. Results show that while both projects are making progress, stable gameplay is still out of reach.

Neither emulator is ready for everyday gaming yet. While a few games are able to reach the menu or title screen, others fail to boot properly or run into rendering issues before gameplay begins.

Demon's Souls is one of the better-performing titles in the test, reaching the title screen in SharpEmu. Even so, the emulator does not reach stable gameplay, highlighting the current limitations of PlayStation 5 emulation.

The other games struggle as well. Several fail during loading, while others show graphical glitches or never move beyond the menu. None of the six titles delivers a stable playable experience.

Results vary between the two emulators. SharpEmu pulls ahead in some games, while KyTyPS5 performs better in others. Across the six tested titles, however, neither emulator consistently delivers better compatibility or stable gameplay.

The latest tests suggest that PlayStation 5 emulation is still in its early stages. Although both projects continue to improve, the current builds cannot yet run many games reliably enough for regular gameplay, despite certain loud headlines giving emulation fans hope.
