With a box price of Rs 1,40,000, the LG Gram presents an option for those who need a large screen for work, but still don’t want to be tied up to their desks. Just the weight of this device, or the lack of it, should endear this to many users looking for a laptop replacement this festival season.

The LG Gram 17, with its big, beautiful display and super lightweight design, is excellent for anyone that has to work on the go. However, the lackluster CPU performance and bottom-firing speakers may prevent it from being perfect for some folks.

That means there’s a very specific user for whom this laptop is a great purchase: you must require a 17-inch screen, you must care about lightness above all else, and you must not plan on doing anything that taxes the integrated graphics. If you check those three boxes, the LG Gram 17 is the obvious choice for you.

This is the only 17-inch laptop made for those after a big-screen portable rather than a huge, powerful workstation. It's ultra-light for the size, which makes it mighty impressive.

LG has worked wonders in getting such a big screen inside a laptop so thin, and if you add in a stylish, understated design and a decent Intel CPU, then this is a laptop well worth checking out for all kinds of uses – even with a relatively high price and built-in graphics.

Once again, the LG gram 17 is quite expensive and not perfect but if you’re looking for an extremely portable laptop with a large screen, speedy performance and long battery life then is an excellent choice. In the 17in market, it's a fantastic choice.

If you've been working from home on a 13-, 14- or 15-inch laptop and you're finding your productivity suffering by working on its small screen, you may be craving moving to something larger. An external display might make the most sense assuming you've got the room for one. But, if you need something more mobile and lap-friendly, the LG Gram 17 might do the trick because, despite its tall 17-inch display, it's incredibly light with a long battery life making it a standout in the category.

Once again, the LG gram 17 is very expensive and not perfect but if you’re looking for an extremely portable laptop with a large screen, speedy performance and long battery life then is an excellent choice. In the 17in market, there's really no beating it. Otherwise, there are plenty of cheaper 13-15in laptops available with similar or better performance. Note that our score is based on the US price of $1,849.

However, by and large the laptop's greatest flaw is its build quality. The flexing in the keyboard and screen, as well as the gaps when pressing the touchpad, leave me concerned about how well this laptop will hold up over a longer period of time.

The LG Gram 17 (2020) is the best 17-inch laptop you can buy for basic tasks such as web browsing and video streaming, thanks to its astonishingly light design. It may not offer a huge leap forward from the previous iteration, but the extended battery life and faster processor are welcome improvements that strengthen its hold as the lightweight champion.
