The latest to join the LG Gram family is the LG Gram 17 17Z290N-V.AA55D. This device was acknowledged as being capable of handling the most important aspects of mobile computing with aplomb. This laptop can be by far regarded as the lightest laptop with a 17-inch screen and the longest-lasting power source. The phrase ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ seems to suit this laptop well, as the LG Gram 17 definitely does not offer much attraction in terms of its external design. This laptop obviously lacks the exceptional features that can be found on Dell’s XPS 15 and the HP Envy 13. Overall, the device carries a simple dark grey design with the word “gram” inscribed on the top. Due to its lack of colour, one can easily call it unattractive, the same way some one would do with the Apple MacBook 15. However, once the laptop is lifted, there is definitely an appreciation for its appeal. As mentioned earlier, this LG Gram 17 is the lightest 17-inch laptop out there, weighing only 2.96 lb., which is around 0.07 pounds lighter than the smaller 13-inch MacBook Pro. It measures 15.0 x 10.5 x 0.7 inches and is therefore slightly bigger than the 16-inch Apple MacBook Pro.
As for connectivity, the Gram 17Z90N has most of the ports users might need now and beyond, including three USB-3.1 ports, a single Thunderbolt-3 via USB Type-C port that supports charging, a single HDMI port, a headphone jack and a micro-SD card slot. In addition, there is also a single USB-3.1 adapter for RJ45 Ethernet. While it is undeniable that the LG Gram 17’s thin and rugged design may be the main selling points, the display would definitely give users more reason to choose it over its closest rivals. One of the best things about this laptop has to be its 17-inch QHD (2560 x 1600) IPS LCD display. It is set in a 15.6-inch form factor and a 16:10 aspect ratio, which provides an even bigger canvas and improves the overall user experience. The screen is incredibly bright and delivers high-quality pictures with 359 nits of brightness, a 1600p resolution, and it covers over 90% of the colour gamut.
In terms of its keyboard, it definitely feels comfortable and has a nice tactile feel. The decent travel makes it comfortable to use for productivity. The same extends to the trackpad that works well, although it has a bit more give than expected. In addition, there is a unique fingerprint reader on the power button which is quite reliable for secure logins. As for the performance, the LG Gram 17 (17Z90N) is a laptop created to be a workhorse. Therefore, it has been equipped with the latest 10th generation Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor, Iris graphics, 16 GB of RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD (slotted in two 512GB modules). In terms of its battery, LG claims that the laptop’s 80Wh battery lasts up to 17 hours on a single charge, which definitely improves the overall productivity and usage time. Overall, the LG Gram 17 is definitely a great choice for users, although depending on their need.

This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.
