Just a month after being available for purchase, Amazon is offering a limited-time discount on the new Kindle Scribe. The new price makes it cheaper than the Kindle Scribe (2022) which makes it a no-brainer.

In 2024, Amazon announced new Kindle models including a redesigned version of the Kindle Scribe. However, it didn't discontinue the original Kindle Scribe, and still sells it alongside the new model which is officially called the Kindle Scribe with redesigned display a.k.a Kindle Scribe (2024). Amazon is now offering a limited-time deal on the Kindle Scribe (2024) that makes it even cheaper than the original.

Despite being announced back in mid-October, the Kindle Scribe (2024) didn't become available for purchase until the 4th of December. With a starting price of $399.99, the new Kindle Scribe cost significantly more than the original which has a starting price of $339.99. Just a month later, it is now selling at a discounted price that makes it cheaper than the original.

For a limited time, Amazon is slashing 19% off the price of the Kindle Scribe (2024) which brings the $399.99 starting price down to $324.99, making it cheaper than the 2022 model. For that price, you get a better-looking device, 16GB of storage, and a Premium Pen. The Kindle Scribe (2022) comes with the Basic Pen, so you have to pay more for the Premium Pen.

If 16GB is too small for your books and notes, the 32GB Kindle Scribe (2024) is down to $339.99 from $419.99 while the 64GB version is available for $364.99 (original price is $449.99). Unfortunately, Amazon's Kindle Scribe doesn't have a microSD card slot unlike rival E Ink notebooks such as the Supernote A5 X2 Manta.

Apart from a redesigned look and a stunning new Metallic Jade color (exclusive to the 64GB variant), the Kindle Scribe (2024) has AI notebook tools, better handwriting recognition, and a redesigned Premium Pen with a customizable shortcut button and a soft-tip eraser at the top. Amazon did bring the AI features to the older Kindle Scribe, and you can purchase the new Premium Pen for $79.99.

Nevertheless, no matter how you look at it, the Kindle Scribe (2024) is a pretty good purchase for anyone who is locked into the Amazon ecosystem and wants a distraction-free digital notebook.
