Khadas mini PC with Intel Core Ultra 258V 'Lunar Lake' CPU debuts at $1,199
A variant of the Khadas Mind mini PC with Lunar Lake chips appeared on Khadas' online store before being taken offline. It was dubbed the 'Lunar Lake AI PC development kit', and commanded a hefty price tag of $1,199.
The system boasted Intel's Core Ultra 7 258V 'Lunar Lake' CPU paired with 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory and a terabyte of fast PCIe Gen 4.0 storage. One of the primary selling points of the Khadas Mind mini PC (currently $1,099 on Amazon) is the admirable amount of modularity offered. So far, Khadas has launched two expansion modules, which can be linked with the 'Mind' mini PC using the 'Mind link' PCIe port.
There is no discrete GPU option available for the Mind mini PC. However, any shortage of graphics horsepower can be made up for by the Mind Graphics unit, which sports an RTX 4060Ti desktop GPU along with a built-in speaker and a decent selection of ports including three USB 3.2 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4a, and dual HDMI 2.1a ports, a LAN port as well as an audio combo jack. Considering the impressive spec sheet, the Khadas Graphics' eye-watering $999 price tag might be easier to excuse.
The Lunar Lake development kit, based on the Mind mini PC, is pretty compact, with an ultra-slim enclosure that is just 20 mm in height. The system sports a healthy array of ports, including USB 4, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.0, and dual USB 3.2 Type-A ports. The $1,199 price tag might be difficult to digest, but the premium form factor and modularity might make it easier for interested folks.
