New Khadas Mind modular mini PC launches next month, possibly with Lunar Lake processor
The Khadas Mind modular mini PC will be refreshed next month. Per the official announcement, it will come with "the latest Intel Core Ultra processor," but the company hasn't clarified whether the CPU will be from the Lunar Lake or the Meteor Lake lineup.
Worth mentioning that the Khadas Mind originally launched with 13th-generation processors, and the mini PC wasn't refreshed with Meteor Lake or 14th-generation CPUs. So, it's possible that the upcoming system may get a CPU from the Intel Core Ultra 100 series.
However, as Intel will launch the Lunar Lake lineup on September 3 and Khadas mentions "latest," it could possibly be a new CPU from the Core Ultra 200 series. As for the other highlights of the refreshed mini PC, the company says that it will maintain the same versatility and expandability as the first-gen unit.
To fill you in, one of the standout features of the first Khadas Mind mini PC is modularity. You have the option to pair the system with an add-on module. So far, the company has launched two. One of them offers more ports, speakers, a fingerprint sensor, and a volume knob.
The other add-on module is an eGPU, which packs the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti desktop GPU and takes advantage of the Mind Link interface to deliver up to 128 GT/s of transfer speed. This is four times higher than the 32 GT/s rate that USB4 or Thunderbolt 4 can offer.
Another notable feature of the first-gen Khadas Mind is portability (available on Amazon). The modular mini PC weighs 450 grams and measures 146×105×20 mm. It even has a built-in 5.55 Wh standby battery to ensure seamless continuity while transitioning from usage modes. All these aspects will be present in the refreshed unit.
