Unannounced mini PC with AMD Ryzen AI HX 370 gets benchmarked
The Ryzen AI 300 series laptops hit the shelves late last month, but mini PC manufacturers are yet to announce products with the new Zen 5 chips. Earlier this month, AOOSTAR said that the company expects mini computers with the latest AMD processors to land in October, but ETA Prime has managed to get an early unit.
While the YouTuber didn't reveal the brand name, ETA Prime says that it will be called the S9 AI mini PC. There will be two variants available. One will feature the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, and the other will pack the AI 9 365. The YouTuber has the former, and he tested the unit's gaming performance.
Per the benchmark runs performed by ETA Prime, the Radeon 890M in the mini PC delivers good overall performance. In Cyberpunk 2077, the top-end RDNA 3.5 iGPU managed to offer over 80 FPS at 1080p with low settings and FSR set to the balanced mode.
The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 mini computer also handles Starfield well at 1080p with low visual settings, 50% render scale, and AMD Frame Generation. It could offer an average of about 78 FPS. Another notable game that ETA Prime has tested is Horizon Forbidden West. This particular title doesn't want to run well on an iGPU.
For example, to get around 60 FPS, you need to drop the resolution to 720p and put all the visual settings to low on systems like the Legion Go with the Radeon 780M (curr. $542.03 on Amazon). However, on the Radeon 890M of the S9 AI mini PC, the game runs at over 60 FPS in most instances at 1080p with low settings and AMD Frame Generation turned on.
ETA Prime has also performed other benchmarks on the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 mini PC. The YouTuber has tested other games as well, which you can check out from the video embedded below.
